Barry is an Aviva Premiership Rugby approved professional, Football League and Football Conference licenced photographer. He is also a member of both the Sports Journalists Association and International Sports Press Association (AIPS).

He has won numerous awards for his photographic work including two international gold medals.

In 2007 he held a solo exhibition on a year on his local Football club, entitled "Crump is better than Yashin...." also in 2007 his commissioned photographs on local clerics were also exhibited.

The solo exhibition in particular was a huge success attracting record visitor numbers for the venue of over 6000 in just one month. The exhibition gained him many varying commissions and also freelance work with four local newspapers and two specialist football publications.

As well as his football and rugby work he is a diverse photographer with subject matter including abstracts, street-life, landscape and natural history.
